Park on the east side of the lot just south of the taproom against the chain link fence OR in the shopping center next door.
Our classic Evanston Route from featuring more limited bike trails and quieter roads. We take a circuitous route on quiet, residential streets (and add a little climbing too). This ride is designed to give riders maximum flexibility in where they start and focus on safety as well. The GLUC Code of Conduct applies. The ride will be lightly supported with a finish outdoors at Temperence Brewing. The route will take you from Evanston nearly to Woodstock and returns along Sheriden Rd and Lake Michigan. It's a great route with some good climbs as well as many opportunities to stop or not stop.
To give riders maximum flexibility and safety in the pandemic, our standard route does not require you to start at Temperence Brewing. You may start at ANY point along the route. All time reporting is via our touch-free electronic system which uses GPS Routes for validation.
There are a lot of options for some distanced socializing after the ride at Temperence. The weather in late April may or may not cooperate so we will play it by ear!
Brevet Available GLUC Members on or before March 15, 2021 - 200k ACP, contact info@greatlakesultracycling.org 1 week prior to the ride
Absolutely a fabulous time! The weather was perfect and the route was well payed out.
Super to be back on the road - Kudos to Michelle for all the work, both before and during the ride.
We ended up cutting the ride short due to relative fitness and speed. We took an alternate route in.
Great ride with great company. Thanks for organising.
Hi Michele, I am learning how to use my gps and apparently I did not record my ride on it :) I used it to follow a map, but that apparently does no automatically start recording a ride. We were with Adam all day long, you can use his track and stats for my record. Thank you and have a nice week!
I don't think I actually left the lot at 6:46 am - that's when I loaded the route onto ny Wahoo and then I rode over to throw my banana peel away triggering the start. The time I'm reporting is matches the RideWithGPS time, which is just fine with me. Thanks for a great ride!
Better late than never. Thanks for the great time.
